Manufacturing 1 is a course that provides students with a general introduction to manufacturing. Emphasis is placed on the sequence of activities used to make a product. Students are instructed in the safe operation of various woodworking tools and machinery. Using hands on activities, students will produce required projects from standard stock using correct machine and hand tool operations. Student evaluation will be based on weekly lab grades and material tests and quizzes.
Manufacturing 2
Students will use the knowledge and skills developed in Manufacturing 1 to design and build a project of their choice. Some form of casework will be incorporated into the design of the project. Emphasis on design, layout, measurement, shop safety, joinery and finishing will be followed in this course.
Manufacturing 3
In this course students will utilize all of the experiences in their previous Manufacturng classes to constuct a high level project containing a drawer and a door. Machine operation, material identification and finishing techniques will be enhanced in this course.
Residential Construction
Residential Construction is a class that deals will the elements of building and maintaining a home. Students will do hands on activities relating to tool use, concrete work, electricity, plumbing, framing and wall finishing.
